Epson Printer Drivers Won't Install

This is 4MLinux 35. Cups yields all sorts of errors (one at a time with each attempt). "Invalid file." "No such file." "Cannot fine printer."

Etc. This machine has many linux distros on it and so far 4MLinux is the only one that can't install the Epson-2650 drivers. The printer is often identified in the list when first selecting for install at cups, naming it perfectly. I make that selection and even see the proper driver listed in the window list of drivers for Epson. Selecting that driver brings up a different error each time. I have never seen that behavior.

I have tried to install drivers from many sources. I have also reinstalled 4MLinux. I'm at a loss.

Can somebody give me a better source for Epson drivers and bash commands on how to get it going manually? I have downloaded from the Epson site (they offer Debian, Fedora, Suse, Mint, etc but no 4MLinux) in attempts to successfully install to no avail. The 4MLinux download site has no drivers for this model.

Help much appreciated; everything else about this distro is very nice!

Hi,

1. Could you post these errors ?
2. Is that WiFi printer ?

Hello, thank you for responding. It’s WiFi. I finally figured out that cups is detecting the scanner portion of the printer/drivers and not the printer. All is well now that I manually unzipped the driver package from addon in 4MLinux and pointed to the proper driver using the browse button in the local host:631 cups add printer utility as admin.

Thanks again,
