FC2 test 3 mouse skipping a beat, movie skipping also

Hello everybody. I'm using FC2 test 3 right now. Just when I almost got everything configured to my liking, my system starts to do something that I don't understand. My hard disk led isn't always on, but when I move my mouse from left to right, it will surely skip a beat, and doesn't move smoothly across the screen. Similarly, when I play movies from the hdd, it also skips a second or so. This is becoming very annoying. I tried to check whether it keeps on reading the hard disk, but it doesn't. I don't know what might be causing this problem. Any solution to this? Or is reinstallation the only way to go about this? If I have to do it all over again, is FC3 coming out already? I mean the more stable version? Does anyone know if video thumbnailing, gdesklets already working properly?

Are the repositories that can update the packages to newer versions already for fc3?

Thanks.

As it turns out, as I inserted an Nvidia video card, the skipping disappeared. Might be the Onboard video memory I alloted was not enough.

Still, I have those 2 problems with Nautilus video thumbnails and gdesklets not working. Any suggestions?
