How to install INCOGNITO to HDD from LiveCD

Hi guys
I wonder if you can help me with a bit of a noob question; I downloaded the latest Incognito Live CD and have been using it and it sure is great! I would like to put this onto my HDD, it's a virtual machine so "blank" HDD.

Is this possible?
If so, please can someone say how??

Unfortunately this is not possible at the moment.

Ah, that is a shame, it would be good to dedicate it to disk so the performance would be improved.

I'll go to the website and find out what components are included then build a linux box first then install the bits and pieces!

Thanks for the reply anyway!

In my own experience, the performance is greatly improved if you run Incognito from a USB drive. Just use the script found in: K-menu -> Incongito -> Install to USB.

What you're interested in is probably the implementation chapter of the documentation.

So if it will install to USB, is there a particular reason it won't allow install to HDD?

Ah, thanks for the link, I shall have a proper read of it later on!
Cheers :)

Not really, but the installation will still behave like when running from a CD, i.e. changes to the filesystem are only temporary and will be gone after reboot (except for /home if you use a persistent home partition). I've never tried installing it to a harddrive myself, though, but you might succeed with a bit of work. You might want to have a look at this thread: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...-stick-762371/
