baseus ba07 on debian
do you know how can I make this bluetooth 5.3 dongle work on debian stable? Should I change the kernel? Or just wait a year?

Ok it is almost a year old story. Here is a "bug" report about it: https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=217870
It looks like we still do not have driver for it. |

It is quite interesting (or how to say). It is know for years now, here is a fix from 2022: https://patchwork.kernel.org/project...@holtmann.org/ But it looks like it does not make it work. Here is another fix from 2024: https://lore.kernel.org/all/20240227...t64@gmail.com/ And it still does not work for me. What I do not really understand: a lot of well documented standard features are missing from this chip, like in the patch: Quote:

https://patchwork.kernel.org/project....com/#25314789 two additional patches. The first one is missing from the kernel, but is required to make this device work. I don't know why. The second one is based on the first one, therefore it is missing too (at least it looks like). I don't really understand what's going on. It looks like I need to build my own kernel if I want to use this BA07. Despite the fact we have a lot of different patches already available (for a year now) the [latest] kernel still does not contain a working solution. |
