Linux OS on an iPad A1458

Hello - newbie here. I'm looking for any information the community can provide about putting a Linux OS on an old iPad. Also, if this is the wrong area to post this please direct me where this would belong. I'm new to the forum and I have an obsolete (according to Apple) iPad A1458 that uses an A6X chip. So far, my Google search results have provided some conflicting information. I enjoy reviving old devices with Linux (my experience is limited to Umbuntu distro). I've put Umbuntu Jellyfish on my PC's and laptops but I have zero iPad experience like at all. This was an old one my step dad had laying around. I'm looking for methods of putting a new os on this type of iPad and what type of distro would best fit my needs.

I have no personal experience with iJunk, but a web search for "linux ipad" turns up a number of links and some tutorials which suggest that it's doable.

Oh! and welcome to LQ.

As frankbell said, there are numerous things you can find with a search-engine, like this:
