Cisco which runs a hacked version of RH on its firewalls inc snort and ASA inside requires immediate patching


Had a "fun" day yesterday patching/upgrading out Firepower fleet and the FMC.
Some of it borked and the others were hell with to upgrade.
Going back today to complete the rest.

The last time I used Cisco by choice it was still under control of the original innovators. I have avoided it ever since. There are better options, and with Open Source tools we can BUILD a better option!

There are a few better players for the enterprise market.
PA if you have the $$$ and if you do not, then Forti.

FTDs are playing catchup and with the amount of $$$ backing them, they aren't that far away to match the above.
Right now, it is not looking good, the fix to the CVEs introduced other business impacting bugs... it was not a fun day yesterday.
