IMPORTANT: Please read guidelines before posting
Welcome to the LQ Job Marketplace. This forum will allow you to post available jobs for Linux, Open Source and programming related positions. Non-technical positions are currently not allowed. If you are unsure if the position you are interested in posting is acceptable, please contact us before you post the position. Each thread should only contain a single job position, multiple different jobs in the same thread is forbidden. The posting should contain as much information as possible and must contain contact information for perspective applications to contact you. Including the location of the position, be it physical or telecommute, will help you cut down on applicants who are unable to accept the position. LinuxQuestions.org is merely acting as a venue for employers to post job opportunities. We do not screen or monitor the listings offered in any way. In addition, we do not facilitate the actual transaction between employers and applicants. This means we have absolutely no control over the quality or legality of the jobs posted.
LinuxQuestions.org makes no representations about any jobs and cannot be held liable for any transaction resulting from a job posted in the LQ Jobs Marketplace. LinuxQuestions.org, to the fullest extent permitted by law, disclaims all warranties, whether express or implied, including the warranty of merchantability, fitness for particular purpose and non-infringement. The maximum liability LinuxQuestions.org will be responsible for, regardless of cause, is the price paid to post the job position. The price is currently $20 per job posting. |
Just as a comment - I know that this area doesn't get much traffic, but as a suggestion...
It's very helpful to include the location and length of employment in the subject - i.e. "Linux Admin - NYC - Full-Time" or "PHP Programmer - Telecommute - Freelance Project" |
another suggestion
It would also be better to post the payout rate, so that everybody will know what we are talking about.

Is it possible to advertise services?
Hello Jeremy,
You're doing a great job out there man and i have a question for you. Is it possible to advertise web services on LQ Job Market section? LinuxQuestions.org has been a great place to learn from. I'm very interested in staying a contributer to the site and not to violate the rules. Regards; |
Not sure exactly what you mean. The LQ Job Marketplace is setup to enable companies with interesting employment opportunities related to Linux and Open Source to reach the LinuxQuestions.org community. Anything outside that scope would not be appropriate.

Thanks Jeremy. i have setup a Spam server SpamAssasin/Mailscanner/MailWatch spam server with AD authentication. The site is not the right place to offer services.
Thank you very much for your reply. |
Is this the appropriate form or area to ask for help (short term freelance work) in the Hartford area? We are not too knowledgeable about Linux and could use some help getting through an application installation.
|
The LQ Job Marketplace would be appropriate for that.

Hello Jeremy,
Would it be possible to buy small (10, 20$) services through LQ? For a single 10$ question, paying 20$ to LQ is a bit much! 20% would be a reasonable cut. You never know, a small fee questions forum might thrive! Regards, Tischbein. |
Tischbein, at this time we don't have any plans to implement something like that. Thanks for the feedback.

You have to pay a fee? That sucks, not everybody can buy things online, and it would be better to use classified. Since one shouldnt have to pay if they don't get anything.
|
If you run a business and have no money, you have no place to be hiring people, do you?
|
I would pay the employees but not a website to post
|
Why not? The price to post here is low and it is by no means mandatory to post a job ad on LQ.
