For all having trouble with kernel 2.6.7 and NVIDA drivers

This seems to be a huge topic as of late. The default 2.6.7 kernel uses the 4k stack option in the kernel hacking menu. For all of us with NVIDIA cards this breaks the current NVIDIA modules therefore making for a very unstable system. In order for your NVIDIA cards to run properly under the 2.6.7 kernel you need to uncheck the use 4k stack option under the kernel hacking menu when compiling the kernel. You must recompile the kernel with the option use 4k stacks unchecked in order for the nvidia modules to work correcty. NVIDIA modules currently require the use of 8k stacks. This question has been asked a number of times so maybe a moderator could make it a sticky.

Hope this helps the people having trouble with kernel 2.6.7 and nvidia cards.

Edit: This has since been fixed by NVIDIA with their new driver.

get it here: http://www.nvidia.com/object/linux_d..._1.0-6106.html
