I was missing AdBlock plugin in akregator 6. Thought it was removed as part of the new major release. Opened a bug upstream and it looks like there should be some work downstream to make it back as it's now in rust. Registering it here just in case someone cares.

This week in KDE: sprints, enhancements, and kebabs
Nate. April 19, 2024.
This week I’m attending two sprints: a KDE e.V. Board sprint which is already done, and a KDE Goals mega-sprint, which begins today! My “Automate and systematize internal processes” goal is represented there and I’m hoping we have a great time brainstorming and fixing stuff. And also that we eat lots of Döner kebabs. So many Döner kebabs. All the Döner kebabs..........

IS qt6.7.0 build ok for you in current? I have linker errors...

gmgf 04-27-2024 09:37 AM

I compile qt6-6.7.0 in separate packages, because it's frustrating with slackware-current's SlackBuild to end up with no packages when it fails, because of qt-webengine, which is a disaster to compile .

So, one qt module, one, SlackBuild.

Understood , thanks...

Try with the old (cmake and ninja) packages (cmake-3.29.1-x86_64-1.txz, ninja-1.11.1-x86_64-1.txz)

This week in KDE: Looking towards Plasma 6.1
Nate. May 3, 2024.
This week we put some of the final Plasma 6.0 bugs to rest, and continued working towards Plasma 6.1 with a variety of UI improvements. Nothing ground-breaking this week, just a slow grind of useful work towards a solid release! ...........

For people that builded qt6.7: can you confirm that /usr/lib64/cmake/Qt6Pdf/Qt6PdfConfig.cmake exist?

Yes, it's a part of qt-webengine module.

This week in KDE: all about those apps
Nate. May 17, 2024.
A few weeks ago, some of us discovered that KDE apps just looked terrible when run in GNOME. A lengthy discussion on icon theming ensued, with various improvements made on both sides. The KDE effort was spearheaded by Christoph Cullmann, as already described in his post on the subject. In a nutshell, KDE apps opting into the new system that are run outside of Plasma will always have the Breeze style and icons available, unless overridden by the system or the user. Apps opting in so far include Kate, Konsole, and Dolphin. Feel free to help opt more apps in by using those commits as inspiration! ...........

Hi all,

can I ask a question: what's stopping us we to have a KDE6 in current officially ?

Pat has gone on record saying that the next stable release (15.1) would still have Plasma 5.

But I already made a request on the relevant thread, asking him to consider including Plasma 6 instead.

Ultimately, it's Pat's call.
