How do I stop daily updatedb cronJobs...?

Hi,

From time to time... ( everytime i turn on My lappy ) updatedb starts and swallows my battery with high cpu revs...

How do i stop this...?

I chmod -x /etc/cron.daily/updatedb

but is this enough...?

Is there a cleverer way...?

BRGDS

Install mlocate instead of locate, then the updatedb cron job won't run if you are on battery power.

Cheers,

Evo2.
