LinuxQuestions.org Community Bulletin

For unsubscription information, please see the bottom of this email.

An Enterprise Linux Forum has been added to LinuxQuestions.org. The Enterprise Linux Forum will offer a place to get free, community-based help to enterprise users who are running Linux, migrating to Linux or researching the viability of a Linux implementation. You can view the announcement http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...hreadid=173148 or visit http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...php?forumid=47 to go right to the forum.
We have also added a Linux User Group (LUG) Forum. The LUG forum will allow members of Linux User Groups around the world to post announcements, attract more members, coordinate meetings and communicate with other LUGs. It also provides a resource for people who are interested in joining a local LUG, making it easier to find one in their area. You can also announce your LUGs events on the LQ calender. Don't forget to mention LQ in your next LUG meeting. You can view the announcement http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...hreadid=175155 or visit http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...php?forumid=51 to go right to the forum.
I was recently reminded in a thread (http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...hreadid=172655) that a great way to help your fellow LQ members is to click on the "View Threads with 0 Replies" link and see if you can share your Linux knowledge by answering a question that doesn't have a response yet. You can also share your knowledge at the LQ Wiki (http://wiki.linuxquestions.org).
I am happy to announce that LinuxQuestions.org is sponsoring the upcoming "Open Source Conference" in Toronto. What is the event about? From the Conference Manager:
"The most comprehensive "Open Source & Free Software" event ever held will take place May 9-11, 2004, at University of Toronto. This conference covers not only technical issues, but social, political, moral, legal and commercial aspects. As far as we know, it is the 1st open source event to be Webcast live such that viewers can interact with experts. Red Hat co-founder Bob Young will deliver opening keynote. Other speakers include Columbia law professor Eben Moglen and "electric eyeglass" inventor Steve Mann, the 1st human cyborg. Participants will have ample opportunity to question experts and give input into the development of public, as well as corporate, policy. Conference will address hot issues including (a) digital music-sharing, now legal in Canada; (b) reliability and security of computer-based voting. Details at www.OpenSourceLive.net"
