DSL hard drive install and swap

I'm planing to install Damn Small on my laptop, the thing is I can only do a swap with the hard drive. So I'm wondering when I install in on the hard drive is DSL going to reconfigure hardware or do I have to do that manually? If I have to manually change the settings, what are the areas I need to go into?

Any help would be appreciated

Sorry, you lost me! Can you try to explain your question again? Do you want to create a swap partition on your harddrive? No problem, there are lots of descriptions of how to do this.

Or do you want to swap the hard drive from one computer to another? Why would you want to do this? Do you not have a CD drive in your laptop? Maybe there are other alternatives without having to swap your harddisks, for example a network install from floppy disk.

If you do want to swap hard disks this, I guess this should be OK as long as the software is compiled for the right architecture although minor changes might be required if the wrong drivers are being loaded. Please clarify your question.

Mark.

I want to swap hard drives. The laptop I have has Windows98, the CD-Rom does work and I've been unsuccessful in getting it to connect to the LAN/Internet.

The reason I'm putting only DSL on is the hard drive is 1.3 Gb, as well windows xp isn't going to work with it (too old).

Thank you for any help.
