jigdo build error on osx

I am attempting to build jigdo on my mac osx 10.2.6 so I can create a debian disk image for my pc laptop (which does not have a burner).
However, I am getting an error message when attempting to compile it:

gcc -O3 -DHAVE_UNISTD_H -DUSE_MMAP -o minigzip minigzip.o -L. -lz

                *** zlib test FAILED ***
cc -o jigdo-port jigdo-port.o zlib-1.1.3/libz.a

an ls to that dir shows that not all file where created:

So of curse I get an error message when running it.

Any idea how to fix it? The PC Laptop has no OS at the moment, so I am stuck getting this to work on my mac :-(

Hi,

try to install the zlib headers

also you should use fink ( http://fink.sourceforge.net/ ) to get a ported version of jigdo
