Question Open a new internet browser in different work-spaces

I use different workspaces, and when I open firefox, it leads me to the workspace where the window or firefox is hosted.

I would like to have different windows of firefox in each work-space, does someone knows how to do it? thanks

Best way I know is to employ the environment variable MOZ_NO_REMOTE=1, or the Firefox startup option -no-remote, have multiple Firefox profiles, and use certain profiles only in certain "workspaces". In KDE and TDE, which I use, not Gnome, these "workspaces" are called "virtual desktops". All my users have MOZ_NO_REMOTE=1 exported to the environment in ~/.bashrc, and 5 or more Firefox profiles.

Thanks, I am afraid that I need a step-by-step guideline.

You should be able to find no remote and additional profile creation steps you need on mozillazine.org, mozilla.org and/or mozilla.com through DDG or Google.

In your home directory, create .bashrc or add to it "export MOZ_NO_REMOTE=1" to put it into your environment. Try man environment and/or google environment to learn what your environment is about.

To facilitate opening only in specific workspaces you'll either need to open via a command line like firefox -no-remote -P <mainprofile> if you don't have MOZ_NO_REMOTE=1 employed, otherwise simply firefox -P <otherprofile>; or, edit whatever toolbar menu(s) you have, cloning the existing Firefox selection as many times as profiles you need, adding the desired -P option (and -no-remote if not set in the environment) to each of the clones.

It's not elegant, but you could open new instances of the browser from the command line and place them on the workspaces of your choice.

You should see an option to do so by clicking the icon at the extreme upper left of the window.
