Apart from ones already mentioned, I also use this one:

######Tovid-Tovid/GUI#######
#deb http://packages.kirya.net/debian/ stable main contrib non-free
#deb-src http://packages.kirya.net/debian/ stable main contrib non-free
#deb http://packages.kirya.net/debian/ unstable main contrib non-free
#deb-src http://packages.kirya.net/debian/ unstable main contrib non-free

...IMHO the best video authoring tool available.

Wow. Nice thread. Sorry friends I have installed Debian first time yesterday so, I don't have any repos in my sources.list. But, I am getting sticked to this thread as it will help me a lot.

My PCLinuxOS sources.list

(later edit) Ooops. I just realized that this isn't for any sources.list for any distro, but rather specifically for Debian. My error.

This thread reminded me that I have to change some of this. For my particular system, in order for the texlive packages to install, I need to uncomment all the tug.orgs and all of the it.debian.orgs, as well as the sid packages.

I use yorku.ca because York University is just up the road from me. I get really fast connections to them when upgrading.

dave@suna:~$ cat /etc/apt/sources.list

This is what I use, really doesn't work well, but it was recommended?? any suggestions would be great. What I use this machine for is converting japanese drama with subtitles to DVD format or hardcode the fonts onto the video ... etc and watch them (and other dvds, vcds, etc.) ...

the only thing that doesn't work (which I don't really need since I'm not a dvd 2 hard drive kind of guy) is dvdrip will not apt-get install due to conflicts with libgtk-pixbuf-perl - which for some reason is requiring an older version which is obsolete - blah.. blah...

oh yeah, nerim has merged with debian-multimedia.org I think.. (from what the site says)

I just installed debian, what repo will give me the latest release of kde?

EDIT: These worked:
Code:
deb http://debian.hands.com/debian/ testing main non-free contrib
deb-src http://debian.hands.com/debian/ testing main non-free contrib
Also gave me OO.o 2.0.3 or so.

Cool My Kanotix sources.list

And Etch. I was wondering though if there are any 'exotic' repo's for my amd64 system out there. For example with the opera browser or Doom III and other neat games

I'm pretty much noobsville and I put in the Sarge dvd and did a fresh install and then I changed my sources.list to what I have here below and I did a dist-upgrade and I don't remember exactly how I did it. It took about four tries and an entire afternoon but I eventually wound up with a really nice Etch install. I guess it's "testing" but it is really nice and it works great. All the multimedia stuff works good (after I added the multimedia sources and then installed lame, etc) and I don't have any problems with my system so far and I never had to re-compile a kernel. It upgraded my kernel automatically to 2.6.16-2-686 and put it in the grub menu and grub also lists a higher version kernel that doesn't work if I try to boot into it. But this one works good. This is the sources.list that I used. Good luck noobs. May the force be with you.
