Open kuser (you can press ALT+F2 and type kuser).
Go to "group" and chek the "audio" group.
Click on it and add your user to that group by clicking "add".
Alternatively you can click your user in "users" tab and select "audio" from the group tab.

Sorry, I just could get no result. I did: (1) ALT+F2; a very small window opened; I typed "kuser" and nothing happened. Nothing. I looked around for some time, but got nowhere. Then, I went to "Administrative" from the pop-up from the Fedora icon on task bar; clicked user & groups; then, scrolled down to audio. My name was there, but I highlighted and clicked "add group". This brought me to a window with user name, pw, etc. I filled in and clicked add. That's where I am. Gotta go to work. Thanks.

Try to follow these steps for audio debugging on Fedora.
I really don't know what's the metter and I swear that I'm trying to figure out what's happening but it seems that Fedora had often issues with C-Media CMI8738.

Secondly, and following "the steps for audio debugging on Fedora," I did a yum remove alsa-plugins pulseaudio. So that's done. Thanks.

It's a long, long file and it won't let me send it because it is so long. The message tells me it is too long.

I read several posts on Fedora forums talking about the problem ov /dev/snd/é permissions.
Last try:
Code:
chmod o+rw /dev/snd/*
I cannot be of any help if this not will solve.
Ask anyone else.
Just look at http://www.fedoraforum.org/forum/sho....php?p=1530451
