I have following these intructions for about 12 hours and I ran into an error of mine i dont know how to fix this would be the website i followed.

http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/handboo...1&chap=10#grub

Considering this is the first time ever using gentoo i thought i got far but cant fix that stupid error followed every step that applied to me. I triple checked what i typed but cant get it to go away.

root (hd0,0)
kernel /boot/kernel-genkernel-amd64-2.6.34-gentoo-r1 root=dev/ram0 init=/linuxrc ramdisk=8192 real_root=/dev/sda3

initrd /boot/initramfs-genkernel-amd64-2.6.34-gentoo-r1

My computer with gentoo

Dell dimesion e310
cpu = pentium ht, clock = 3.06Ghz
ram = 1G, type = ddr 2
hard drive sata
western digital 80G
hard driva pata

It looks like you've got a /boot partition, yet your path to the kernel
is /boot/kernel... So it expects the file to be at /boot/boot/kernel...

Try removing the /boot in the path of the kernel and initrd files.

/initramfs-genkernel-amd64-2.6.34-gentoo-r1 still

if this is what you ment it then does not work

you should try another boot-loader i recommended you to try LILO is much easier, at least for me.

Please post the contents of /boot You will need t boot up the livecd and choot the same as you did before to your new install. Make sure /boot is mounted just like you did before.
Code:
cd /boot
ls -l
I don't think your kernel is kernel-genkernel-amd64-2.6.34-gentoo-r1
