Error creating encrypted home
Hi,
I have just downloaded Incognito & used the on-cd script to create a bootable usb stick.
When creating the persistent home, I select encrypted, and hidden. It creates the encrypted home volume fine, but then generates the following error message:
modprobe: WARNING: Error inserting padlock_aes (/lib/modules/2.6.24-gentoo-r7/kernel... (it timed out here, so thats all I could read)
OK - now I'm puzzled (really puzzled!) I have done this at least 6 times this afternoon, on 2 different computers, and it's failed every time. I register on this forum to report the bug - and go through the steps one more time to write down the error messages - and it works!!!
So... what has happened the previous 6 (or more) times is that the creation of the hidden volume fails. I am asked to enter my containing volume password (which I was not asked to do this time) and it generates an error message which I don't remember - and I'm not deleting the successful one to try to reproduce it again!
The only difference seems to be the time I waited whilst copying the error message down. Could it be that the script proceeds before the volume creation is complete?
Anyway, I'm happy now! But maybe it's something to look into for the next release, so I'll still post this.
Thanks for a great distro!
