I don't see why using VirtualBox in Ubuntu would be wrong at all, so long as you're installing CentOS or another RHEL-derived distro on the VMs. The only thing you're missing out on will be practice setting up KVM in a RHEL-like environment, which I think is one of the exam objectives (not sure how important it is). But for setting up other RHEL-like VMs to practice on, I don't see any issues with it.
