15.10 installation problem

I tried to install Deepin from a USB, and got to the Deepin boot options, but when I clicked on deepin installation, a message came up stating something like error in writing, but it moved on to a blank screen very fast so I couldn't read the message properly. This has happened a few times. I downloaded the latest ISO 15.10 on the Deepin website...should I use an older version?

No that's not usually the best option. You'll have to update eventually.
From the lack of what you have posted,...is it dying during bootloader, grub? can you add a flag to grub to make it verbose? dying while trying to find a drive?, is it trying to load a graphical interface for the installer, you'll need to determine when it is stopping, I see something about nvidia devices in Deepin's front page.
