Gnome on Wayland not working

Hello, I want to try Gnome on Wayland but each time I log in on it I log out instantly and get back to login screen. At the same time I would like to know what it is and if it's normal. Is there a way to try it?

Perhaps see if a /usr/share/wayland-sessions/gnome-wayland.desktop or /usr/share/wayland-sessions/gnome.desktop to see what gdm can log into?

i don't know how this could make sense.
wayland is under heavy and very recent development, yet you want to use an (in this case already) outdated version from debian stable ?
but i might be wrong...
anyhow, yeah, probably more luck with archlinux.
even there you might want to consider enabling [testing]?
