LFS 4.1... I may try this... With what I have taught myself (from reading from others experience and trial and error) I may have better luck with LFS now... hopefully =)
What kind of a machine are you doing this to?
I'll be using a test machine:
Pentium 133 or 233w/MMX
Approx 32Mb or 64Mb of RAM
IDE 4Gb HD (LFS built system)
IDE 1.2 Gb HD (Source Distribution)
Floppy and CD-Rom (nothin' fancy)
Not a giant, but I can make it easily out of my spare parts =)
I may use Mandrake as my source...
my idea was creating a boot floopy and then start installing from that end . i think we need to write shell scripts at this moment to automate the process in the beginning
About your LILO error:
It might not be in the command, it might be in you /etc/lilo.conf -- maybe a typo or simply a bad device name... If you can, display you lilo.conf file =)
Hi!
I only took a fast look through this thread, but i want point you to FAI (Fully automatic install). Fai was originally created to easy install a whole beowulf cluster, but it will also fit to your needs (as you can do nearly everything with it).
Take a look at: http://www.informatik.uni-koeln.de/fai/
