Bulding SMP file server
I need to build a file server for a graphics dept. Big files going back and forth. Here's what I plan on using:
CPU: two AMD MP 2000+
Mobo: Tyan S2466N
Data drives: six Maxtor 160GB in software RAID 5 + hot spare
Controllers: three Iwill SIDE-RAID 100 (not using HW RAID)
System drives: two 20GB Maxtors either RAID 1 or one backed up to the other via CRON script
System drives plugged into mobo controller
CD-RW: Yamaha CRW2200
Video: ATI X2K Pro 32
NIC: two Linksys EF1064 Gigabit, 64bit PCI
RAM: Corsair 74SD1024R-2100 1GB DDR
OS: RedHat 7.2
Distribution: Red Hat, Fedora, Yellow Dog, Debian, FreeBSD, Embedix

"plan" is the key word
I said "Here's what I plan on using". That's why I'm asking for suggestions - because I want to be sure I'm choosing the right components before I build the machine. I haven't even started buying the parts yet...
