pass "startx" argument while running runlevel 5?

I use Fedora 4 and runlevel 5 (X11 starts by default). However i'd like to edit a file and pass an argument to startx, so that everytime X starts automatically -i'd like to continue using runlevel 5- it uses this argument.
Is there a way to do this?
Thanks

I very much doubt that the startx script (which starts an X session from the console) will be called when you enter runlevel 5. It's much more likely to start the X server and pass control to some varient of xdm.

Runlevel control is held in /etc/inittab, although you may find that the X service is started from a script in somewhere like /etc/rc.d/rc5.d/ (at least, I think that's where Fedora keeps it).

Perhaps if you said which option you wanted to pass it would be easier to help you.

Example:
startx -- :2

startx -- :<display#>
