Angry Does 3D acceleration work with SuSE 1.0 and X86-64?

I have a Dell 8400, running Linux X86_64 (SuSE 10.0). I had difficulty enabling the 3D graphics with an ATI card, so went out and purchased an NVIDIA e-GeForce 7300 (PCIE) card. I downloaded the NVIDAI drivers, and ran the install, apparently without problem), but can find nothing in YAST that indicates the Nvidia card is even selected. On my 9.3 system at work, I can change the vidio card in YAST, but on this system in YAST it only indicates "VESA Frambuffer graphics" and give me no option to change the card. Was there a change in the wa y you configure a new card in 10.0 that is different?

When I test the setup rungin glxinfo I get:
name of display: :0.0
Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0".
Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0".

What am I doing wrong?

Yes it is possible. And not difficult.

I'm running 10.0 64 AMD. Download the proprioetary drivers from ATI then run fglrx.

If you perform a search on ATI on this forum, you will find a LOT of tutorials on how to do this.
