LAN printer's address and port?

I am on Mandrake 9.2 and trying to configure my printer on the LAN. The printer is currently connected with a Windows 98 machine. I have installed samba and can browse the network and share files either way. I go to add a printer on this Linux box and after checking LAN printer, I get to the dialog which asks for the printer address and port. Is this the same as the IP address of the computer? What about the port? How do I find these?

I've installed a Samba printer. In the drop down menu have you got CUPS, Network Printer, LPD, SMB? I would go for SMB, you may need to supply a specific user name and password.

I'm away from my machine at the moment so can't be more specific.

The ip-address/port combo is for print servers such as the HP JetDirect series... or anything running lpd? Samba printing works differently.

I guess I don't have samba printing set up. I am not given that choice. Right now I am using CUPS. Got any good links for setting up samba printing?

In printerdrake select the printer and click on the edit icon.

Click on the radio button next to Printer Connection Type, then click on <do it>.

Do you see an option called <Printer on SMB/Windows 95/98/NT Server>
