UEFI vs. BIOS install - Which one should I choose?
Hello, I'm setting up this computer with an ASUS P8H77-M PRO motherboard, which has both UEFI and BIOS capabilities.
The question is, is it worth to use UEFI? Are there any real advantages, considering I want to multi-boot many distros? Is it good idea to use GRUB2 or I'll have to install several .efi loaders?
I'm used to BIOS/GRUB2 for a multiple distro installation (which is what I'm planning to do here too).
Do you know that you can use GRUB2 with with UEFI too?
No I didn't . I'll probably use that tidbit some day. Thanks!
Most of the stuff I use around here is at least five years old. By the time I get round to UEFI it will be 2017 !

So far I can't find any information or help about this.
You prove my point. I rest my case.
Have you tried the Grub mailing list ?

help-grub is a list for getting help for GRUB. Subscription to the list is not required to post a question.
UEFI comes from a rather doubtful parentage (M$ & Intel) and I think it settles on your multiple systems. You _may_need_ UEFI for windows 8. If not, it's drm in disguise from what I read of it and I for one want to avoid it as long as possible. I read some guy from AMI talking about it.
If UEFI becomes mainstream, there will be a forum here for guys who have locked themselves out of their own systems in all likelihood, or guys who have a 'genuine' m$.doc that they cannot read on a 'genuine' pc.
