I have a stoopid idea, guys!
I want to put linux on a Sansa Fuze+
I know about rockbox, but I don't like its "plugin" idea (no dynamic allocation, only a 512KB fixed heap for plugins, although you can "steal" the audio buffer ) I've learned that it has a Freescale i.MX233 SoC, which has an ARM926EJ-S of the ARMv5TE architecture. It also has 64MB of ram and a QVGA screen.
The short answer is yes since rockbox is supported and the download section has a 2.6.31 kernel. If you are asking about a generic x86 like distribution then not really.
ipodlinux is inactive and since it is specific to the ipod I doubt it will help the OP in any way. From the roxkbox source code you could figure out how the display and inputs works. From that you could build an application to play audio and or video files from scratch. Using your possibly one and only player to develop software has its own risks..
