Question What's the easiest way to block URLs on Android?

I see Chrome blockers for desktops.

There's an adk kit for Android that's > 100mb on the command line and is 64-bit only (I'm on an old laptop).

Is there anything good in the Play Store or an easy way to edit our Android hosts file?

I can think of a few ways, but one doesn't they dont qualify as "in play store" and the others not as "easy"... but mentioning anyway

https://f-droid.org/en/packages/org.jak_linux.dns66/ is a FOSS app that looks like it'd do the job.

Magisk offers "systemless" hosts; apply then module then just edit /system/etc/hosts.

Or you could run your own DNS on another device (i.e. pihole) and connect to it from android: Settings > Network and Internet > Advanced > Private DNS

I'm using NoRoot now. I like it but there are some tricks, and I wind up either allowing everything or blocking everything when not in use.
