Help setting TTL

Hi all. I'm trying to up my TTL for using my connection as a backup server. I have tried the following command,

Code:
iptables -t mangle -A OUTPUT -j TTL --ttl-set 126
however I receive the error
Code:
iptables: No chain/target/match by that name
What do I need to do to up my ttl and what do I need to do to save it?

Thanks,
Todd

Isnt that a sysctl? As in "sysctl -a | grep ip.*ttl"? The ones you dump in /etc/sysctl.conf?
