in that case you might want to mark the thread solved. And probably you can also explain the solution to other people.

When you post a question, "pretty-please don't" then remove the question and say, cryptically, "Okay, I solved it."

Some day, perhaps years later, someone else will be having the same problem, and they will "search" and find your post. They will look for your detailed description of the problem (and how you knew that you had one ...), and then they will look at your detailed description of the solution. This is very much why sites like this one exist. "Remember that you are also writing for the next person." Include details: versions and so-on. So that the reader can decide if your solution applies to his case.
