files are created in the future while date cmd output is perfectly fine

Hi,

I got "modification time in the future" warnings on my ubuntu and found out that file creation time (via touch) is few hours into the future, while my date seems fine (both via date and hwclock). How do I make it right?

You are probably writing to a NFS server who's clock is set in the future with respect to yours. Timestamps are set by the server, not the client.

Look into NTP.
