Two programs WINE (free) and cedega (not free) amongst others can be used to run exe files under Linux.

Depending which version of Notes you have you may be successful, but neither work with the latest version IIRC

WINE can be got from

www.winehq.com ,

Also, I was mistaken in my previous message, Cedega is mainly for gaming, actually I wanted to suggest Crossover office from www.codeweavers.com

if you look here:
http://www.codeweavers.com/compatibi...=59&search=app

(sorry for the long link) it seems that you are in luck and your version is working, I am not in luck the company I work for insists on using 6.0.4

I have not tried Wine or CrossOver, but I have read that Wine can be tricky to get working so maybe CrossOver is the easiest choice.

Hope this helps and good luck

chefmark:

And 6.0.x does not work on wine /cross over? I used both R5 and R6.5.3 on it for years now and it worked perfectly (since they fixed R6 like a year ago), but admitedly I never tried 6.0.x.

cheers

From the Codeweavers site
http://www.codeweavers.com/compatibi...=59&search=app

6.0.4+ is listed as Known not to work

Lightbulb

Good news for you then:

Looking under known issue there seems to be a workaround:

....
Notes 6.0.0->6.0.3 Red Box of Death...
Issue for CrossOver Office 3.0.0 and below.

Notes 6.0.0->6.0.3 does not work under WINE/CrossOver. Please upgrade to Notes 6.0.4.
...

So I guess you got an old version of crossover if it still does not work.

Cheers

Markus

Thanks for that Markus, but unfortunately I have had a brain fart, we are using 6.0.3 (doh! I am a moron) so it looks like I am still out of luck
