When opening Java Web Start files in Firefox I a pop up window:
Opening draw.jnlp
You have chosen to open draw.jnlp which is a Java Network Launched Application
from
http://java.sun.com
What should Firefox do with this file?
* Open it with Mozilla Web Browser (default)
* Save to disk
* Do this automatically for files like this from now on.
but the
'Mozilla...' option does nothing.
$ which javaws
/usr/java/jdk1.5.0_07/bin/javaws
/etc/mailcap contains:
# Java Web Start
application/x-java-jnlp-file; /usr/java/jdk1.5.0_07/jre/bin/javaws %s
Both $ /usr/java/jdk1.5.0_07/bin/javaws and $ /usr/java/jdk1.5.0_07/jre/bin/javaws do launch the Java Application Cache Viewer window and the applications work.
The Java plugin works and the test applet at
http://www.java.com/en/download/help/testvm.xml displays information about your operating system, the JVM and the Java Runtime Environment (JRE).
