I just installed Krusader and on first start I got these messages:
Could not find mime type application/octet-stream.
No mime types installed.

I have no idea what a mime type is or where to ge the application. Help!!!

Thanks, frumenti

It's not an application. But how did you install Krusader, that may be where your problem exists.

Also, you may want to fill in your distro field.

What distro, and if not KDE, then what WM are you using.

Cool

Thanks, MasterC. I filled in the distro field. I installed Krusader after downloading it from the internet. I think you may be right about the problem being in the install. I will retrace my steps.

Thanks for the help. frumenti.

You have to have the kde-libs installed to use krusader (i think the rpm package is called kde-base. You donīt have to reinstall krusader just install the libs

If Aliensub's idea doesn't work (which you should install those libs, they are necessary for other things as well), and you can seem to find the problem in the way you installed, post instructions on how you did install it, and we can go from there.

Cool
