mandrake 8.1 - inoperative mouse
I've recently installed mandrake8.1 , (and re-installled from two different distributions) , to a 4gb disk partition on my 15gb drive.
All installations went well, specifically the mouse recognition & testing configuration stages. I've tried installing my mouse as a ps/2 wheel mouse & the generic two button mouse during the various installations. In every case when linux reboots, I'm not able to use the mouse. The cursor is locked dead in the middle of the screen. I've tried keyboarding around to the configuration - mouse section in linux, without any luck. Is this is some dumb newbie overlook or something else tha's easy to resolve. Please help. My system configuration, (as best as I can gather), follows; - Os Version : Windows 2000 5.0 (Build 2195) - Processor : Quantity : 1 Level : 586 Granularity : 64K Revision : 1792 Model : 7 Stepping : 0 High-End Processor : True Processor(s): AMD-K6tm w/ multimedia extensions @ 299MHz Performance Rating: PR299 (estimated) Mainboard and BIOS > Bus(es): ISA PCI SMBus/i2c Multi-Processor Support: No System BIOS: Award Modular BIOS v4.51PG System Chipset: Acer Labs Incorporated (ALI) ALI M1531 Aladdin IV/IV+ CPU to PCI Bridge L2 External Cache: 512kB pipeline-burst write-back Installed Memory: 160MB (146% true allocated load) Video System > Monitor/Panel: COMPAQ MV520 Color Monitor Adapter: NVIDIA RIVA TNT2 Model 64/Model 64 Pro Memory Information Total Physical Memory: 163380 KB / 159 MB Used Memory: 104844 KB / 102 MB Free Memory: 58536 KB / 57 MB Display Information Full Screen Size : 800 X 600 Viewable Desktop Size : 800 X 553 Minimum Window Size : 112 X 27 Icon Spacing Grid : 75 X 75 < Peripherals > Serial/Parallel Port(s): 1 COM / 1 LPT Keyboard: PC/AT Enhanced PS/2 Keyboard (101/102-Key) Mouse: Microsoft PS/2 Mouse Number Of Mouse Buttons: 3 < Network Adapter(s) > Networking Installed: Yes Adapter: Kingston EtheRx KNE110TX PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter Adapter: WAN Miniport (L2TP) Adapter: WAN Miniport (IP) Adapter: WAN Miniport (PPTP) Adapter: Direct Parallel Adapter: NTS Enternet P.P.P.o.E Adapter a. |
