I have an External US Robotics Sportster Voice 56k Faxmodem with Personal Voice Mail.
Picked it up for a few bucks at a yard sale without any software.

It works on my Windows 98 PC for sending/receiving faxes.
But of course, now and then I have to reboot win98.
And I hardly use the win98 PC.

So I want to use it on one of my Red Hat, Fedora, ... boxes.

Is there some (Linux) software or LiveCD that will make this modem:

1. Record a voice mail if the call goes answered.
AND
2. Receive and store faxes.
AND
3. Distinguish between a voice call and fax and take the appropriate action.

I have never used fax, plus I have no idea on whether these links
include voicemail. You'll have to check them out (and let us know
if still a problem).

I looked at this software.
I wanted to evaluate this software but the free
version does not come with voicemail features.
The free version only does faxing.

I don't mind purchasing this but I would like
to test the features first and make sure that my
hardware is compatible.

It appears I cannot do that with this software.

Can you suggest anything else?
