Creating separate whatis database

hi,

OS: Redhat 9.0

I created directory expr and subdirectory expr1, and placed 2 sample man pages. I am able to view the man pages using

man ./expr/expr1/index.expr1

To create a separate manpage only for these two sample man pages using makewhatis command can you plz specify how to use 'makewhatis' command.

"man makewhatis" says : To rebuild only /usr/X11R6/man/whatis and /usr/local/man/whatis: "makewhatis /usr/X11R6/man /usr/local/man". If it's only for private man page mapping you could use your own ~/.man.config and add the dirs in the MANPATH and MANPATH_MAP sections.
