Hi,
I have seen a couple of other posts about on this topic and have tried them but with no success. not sure what is different about my situtaion but thought I would post here and see if anyone can assist.
I am trying to mount a disk that was pulled out of a Buffalo linkstation RAID-1 config.
I have run through using 'mdadm --assemble --scan' and 'mdadm -assemble --scan --run'.
Some of this seems to be working but I can't get it to become active so I can mount it and access the drive.
Here is some of the info:
Code:
ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ cat /proc/mdstat
Personalities :
md124 : inactive sdc5[0](S)
1000436 blocks super 1.2
md125 : inactive sdc2[0](S)
4999168 blocks super 1.2
md126 : inactive sdc6[0](S)
1938311476 blocks super 1.2
md127 : inactive sdc1[0](S)
1000384 blocks
unused devices: <none>
The mdadm.conf file:
Code:
ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ cat /etc/mdadm/mdadm.conf
# mdadm.conf
#
# Please refer to mdadm.conf(5) for information about this file.
#
# by default, scan all partitions (/proc/partitions) for MD superblocks.
# alternatively, specify devices to scan, using wildcards if desired.
DEVICE partitions

The partition that I want is /dev/sdc6
Code:
ARRAY /dev/md/21 level=raid1 metadata=1.2 num-devices=2 UUID=469cd3d7:46959065:f91fa235:36a8fb4a name=LS-WVL-EM076:21
devices=/dev/sdc6
I notice that
mdadm --examine calls the drives
'/dev/md/21' and 'cat /proc/mdstat' calls it md126 which is what is present in the /dev directory ... I'm not sure if this is any issue.
Can anyone explain what I need to do /how I can make the drive active?
Thanks
