XTerm(241) support for truetype fonts and method of changing XTerm font.

Hello all,

I am using the terminal emulator XTerm version 241. I wish to use a truetype font, calibri.

1) Does XTerm support the use of truetype fonts?

2) If so, then how do I set XTerm to use the truetype font, calibri?

Thank you,
Adam

An attempt at a solution:

I created a .Xresources file which contained the lines:

XTerm*faceName: calibri
XTerm*faceSize: 11

Then I did:
xrdb -merge .Xresources

Problem:
Changes have taken place but there are massive spaces between each character?

Most terminals assume a fixed-width font is being used (otherwise the outputs of commands like ls or top will have columns badly lined up and not be readable easily). So I think this is to be seen as "expected (and appropriate) behaviour".
