Wireless newbie(ish)
I'm still a newbie even though I first installed Linux about a year ago. You see I'm quite faddish and got into Linux and thought I was real commited when I spent about a month and a half getting my winmodem to connect me to that there internet. Then after a while I bought a laptop and got into 802.11b to connect my desktop to my laptop, which seemed enough of a hassle under windows (98 and xp pro) without getting into bins and compiling in Linux.
Well now I'm back with the penguin and I need to know how much trouble to expect trying to get my wi-fi cards (Nortel Networks E-mobility) to run under Linux, Redhat 7.
Is this likely to be a runner? i.e. getting the right drivers or am I looking to upgrade to a new distro, in which case for the time being I'll probably just keep Linux as a hobby and do my networking under Windoze.
Any advice will be most welcome.
