Fedora Linux & Display problem
i tried to Install Fedora Linux 4 from 4 CD package. Everything went well except for the Display. by default it is recognising the monitor as "Philips 109E" resolution "800x600". If I change this resolution to "1280x960" [which is correct and working well for the same monitor on another Fedora system], system is not showing anything on monitor. it is simply displaying the message "93K/87HZ Frequency is out of range" .
I even tried to boot with "linux resolution=1280x960" but same problem.
So i installed RH-9 and it is taking display as "Philips 109E" resolution "1024x860" and i can change to "1280x960" and it is working fine. So after installing the RH-9 i tried to upgrade it to Fedora 4 and the same display problem is re appearing. but i could not come to conclusion that Fedora is having problem with this model monitor because in another system i could sucessfully install fedora 4 with same hardware.
even i tried to copy the good machine "xorg.conf' file, but still it has same problem.
Help me if anyone had same problem and what is the solution ?
