[SOLVED] Are Google scripts required now?

It may just be my setups but just recently it seems that the functionality of the forum has been reduced somewhat and allowing Google to execute scripts may solve that. Is there a change of the site code or am I simply the victim of a coincidence?

I just saw this happen a few hours ago so I do wonder whether it is just something I missed. I should add that I use this site with HTTPS enabled on my PCs but on my phone it's just down to my provider.
Apologies for being vague, also, but there was a noticeable change earlier.
Edit: Things seem to be back to normal now. I may have imagined the problems?
Edit: I'll keep adding in edits rather than deleting. It is definitely a google domain, I think ajax.googleapis.com, which seems to be required now.

Nothing has changed in this context in multiple years. That said, it's possible we'll change CDN providers or host ourself after the code update.

Thanks, it must have been a coincidence in my script policies ending up blocking ajax.googleapis.com on my computers. Hm, well.

I've made the switch to cdnjs on an evaluation basis. If you notice any performance degradation or other issues, please let me know ASAP.

Does this have anything to do with CloudFlare by any chance?

I use NoScript and the formatting buttons ("bold", "italic", "quote", "code", etc etc) stopped working. And I just found out that if I allow "cloudflare.com" in NoScript, they work again.

That's correct (although if they were working previously it means you've whitelisted Google). When we move to the new codebase/infrastructure it's possible we'll simply serve this content ourselves, although it's likely NoScript will block much of it in that case too.

Thanks, now working when leaving ajax.googleapis.com blocked.
To expand a little I've ended up blocking a lot of Google scripts by default as, unless you allow cookies, I find they serve low-resolution YouTube videos to Firefox. I seem to recall I've had other, similar, things also but don't recall at the moment.
So it's easier now I can leave Google scripts blocked.

I'm going to mark this thread solved. I've been using the site a few days now without any Google scripts allowed and all is working. Thanks again jeremy!
