How to post images

hi, very newbie question, how to attach images.

As I am writing this, I see on my left, Posting Rules, "You may post attachments".
I also see further down, "IMG code is Off".

Clicking the paperclip does nothing. What am I doing wrong here?

thanks for the answer.

It seems my mistake was a blind monitor. I usually have my second screen off via power button, and the "Manage Attachments" window was displaying on the second monitor. (This happened before with other applications as well)

Before posting I searched the forums and the web and did not find any good article about this. Maybe it will help someone.

In my opinion, instead of using the bandwidth that LQ gives you for attachments, use one of the web sites that allows simple file uploads, then post the link in the thread. Then you don't have to come back later and delete the image in the thread.

Example:

upload.sh
Code:
#!/usr/bin/bash

read -p "Enter/Paste image file: " im_file

curl -F 'file=@'$im_file'' https://0x0.st

#curl -F 'f:1=@'$im_file'' ix.io

#curl -F 'f:1=<-' ix.io <<< "$im_file"

#curl -F 'sprunge=<-' sprunge.us <<< "$im_file"
And that Looks like...

The above is nonsense - you do not have to "come back later and delete the image" - in fact you should avoid doing so, since the image being attached is generally going to be relevant to the thread (and thus to helpful for others), otherwise it wouldn't be attached in the first place.
