The whole purpose of a distribution is to create a coherent set of software components.
So that, we can have Firefox nicely integrated with the desktop (e.g. ubuntu), or with some pre-defined things (addons, or bookmarks).
Installing from mozilla.org breaks that.

I think Timothy missed my message where I advertise my repository.
At the time of writing, there was Firefox 23 then 24 for Mga3 when only FF17 was available on official repos.
I used until last week where official mga3 provided FF24.1. The update has been done by the official update.
Yes, I may have missed that with all the posts telling me to manually install.

I'll have to check that out.

Thank you, 1 person that actually posts something helpful (even if he did have to post twice apparently).

I actually need to reinstall one of my laptops, playing with untested software broke KDE on it, and I was getting fed up with having siduction kernels anyway as their kernels take 20 minutes to download.

I see now there's a lot of yelling going on here, this we (@28.0a1) thinks accomplishes nill or less, like I guess: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/ JK(partly)
