Function Keys on Mandriva2010.x

hey guys..

I always need to <ctrl><alt><f1> then <ctrl><alt><f7> whenever my mouse dissapears (typical compiz bug).

I want to report that the Function Keys no longer work on Mandriva2010.x and I don't know why, even after reboots.

I'm using Microsoft Wireless Keyboard 6000 v3. And on MCC, I pretty much tried all the Microsoft keyboard layouts. Under the Hardware Detection, here's what it says..

Identification
Vendor: ‎Microsoft
Description: ‎Microsoft® 2.4GHz Transceiver V1.0
Media class: ‎Human Interface Device|Boot Interface Subclass|Keyboard
Connection
Bus: ‎USB
Bus PCI #: ‎2
PCI device #: ‎11
Vendor ID: ‎0x045e
Device ID: ‎0x071d
Sub vendor ID: ‎0x0000
Sub device ID: ‎0x0000
Misc
Module: ‎usbhid

My question is .. HOW do you RE-MAP <ctrl><alt><f1> and <ctrl><alt><f7> to <ctrl><alt><page up> and <ctrl><alt><page dn> respectively ? Are these re-mappable ?? If they are, i dont have to worry about the function keys anymore.

Thanks !

Do you have the problem if you set the keyboard in mcc to Generic > 105-key (Intl) PC ? That's usually the default setting.

yeap same problem. This time i use terminal console, logged-in as ROOT then type MCC and go to /Hardware/Setup KeyboardLayout and change to Generic.

Then on the terminal console i get these messages (although theres no error in the MCC graphical user interface itself)..

error: libhal_device_remove_property: org.freedesktop.Hal.NoSuchProperty: No property input.xkb.variant on device with id /org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/usb_device_6f2_11_noserial_if0_logicaldev_input

Hi, you should be able to change the key mappings here....<edit>kde4</edit>

System settings/Keyboard & Mouse....
Configuration of standard keybindings
Configuration of keybindings

I have a logitech ex110 wireless keys and mouse, and I simply use the default (not generic)105 US keyboard.

All the buttons I use work.

Maybe you could check your /etc/X11/xorg.conf file.
Code:
