mandrake and ntfs

Id like to know if mandrake 9.2 will be able to write on ntfs partition. I hate that, but I can't get rid of windows since I'm a game and i can't configure wine to install half of my game. Same with winex. Until i can configure it correctly, i don't have any choice but to keep windows.

Basicly, no. There are highly experimental NTFS drivers out there which you can compile into your kernel, but I've been of the impression that they're almost guarenteed to break your NTFS partition, and should only be used by developers.
Read-only NTFS suppport, however, seems to work pretty well. I believe you'll have to recompile your kernel to enbable it, though.

I might be behind the times on this...anyone feel free to correct me if I'm mistaken.

Ah, I didn't realize that Mandrake came with that feature turned on by default All distributions are a little bit different about that.

Here's a website that's more useful than me :P

Not likely - Microsoft doesnt release any information that would fascilitate Linux developers in producing Write support - its therefore a slow and complex process.

Mandrake can Read NTFS filesystems though.

You might consider FAT32 for XP instead, or as a small go-between partition for both OSs to write to.
