Hi all,
Manjaro user here.
The latest update involves PAM and PAMbase, potentially causing login trouble. Anyone figured out how to safely navigate this?
About the (new) forum: I had SUPER excelent help and ecouragement. I try to gather more "intel" before I proceed
Thanks
Melissa
Someone else ran into this problem when updating Arch. They didn't check carefully enough for new configuration files before shutting down. The advice I was given about PAM years ago was always to open a console and confirm that I could log in both as myself and as root before shutting down or rebooting. PAM reads its configuration file at boot time.

Thanks, I'll dive in the config files now (never did that before)...and see what I can learn...
Edit - hey! NOW I get it!, open a console and try to log in. If that is okay, you're set! Nifty
