converting DOC to HTML using PHP

hi all,

i want to convert a particular doc file (which will be created using ms word) to html file without any administrative interference, in PHP. i have tried to use htmlenteties but to no avail.. is there any other method or code to do so? if yes, can u people send me? i do not want to use any software to do this.. it should happen all by itself.

i am using PHP 4.2.2 and RH9...

You need .doc specification to do it. The thing is that for word 97 (not sure) it can be found, but it was not released for later versions.

You will probably need PHP to call a program like antiword to convert doc to txt, then convert txt to html.

A project called "phpLiveDocx" recently launched, which allows you to convert between DOC and PDF formats (in addition to a number of different file types).

Currently, HTML is not supported as an output format. However, it WILL be added very shortly.

Google 'Convert DOC to PDF in PHP' and you will see a blog post, which illustrates the conversion process.
