function not highlighted in vi editor in suse 10.1

i have installed suse 10.1.
while writing a program in VI editor the function is not highlighted with different color.
as you know that different function get hilighted with differnt colour for example
#include<stdio.h> get hilighted with purple colour
and void with green like that
how to turn it on to sort out this problem?

any suggestion will be appreciated

hey i have i problem regarding GCC in
libray file <math.h> of Redhat-9 is not recognised by the program.
suppose i am using a function called "sqrt" but it shows no refernce in the library.

function sprintf and sscanf, putchar and fputchar is not working in gcc linux susu 10.1.
how can we sort out this problem for permanently.
